Top Spellcasting Options
⭐ = Requires Concentration
Cast This Before You Wild Shape!
- Conjure Animals (3rd Lvl - Always Prepared): ⭐ The best spell for a Moon Druid at this level. Summon beasts to fight alongside you while you are in beast form. Options:
- Two CR 1 beasts (e.g., 2 Brown Bears or 2 Dire Wolves)
- Four CR 1/2 beasts (e.g., 4 Black Bears or 4 Crocodiles)
- Eight CR 1/4 beasts (e.g., 8 Wolves)
- Moonbeam (2nd Lvl - Always Prepared): ⭐ Create a pillar of light that damages creatures inside it. You can use your action on subsequent turns to move it, even in Wild Shape.
- Heat Metal (2nd Lvl): ⭐ Devastating against enemies in metal armor. Deals damage every round as a bonus action while you are free to attack in beast form.
DM's Tip for Alfbern: Your core combat strategy is often to cast a powerful Concentration spell on your first turn (Conjure Animals is a fantastic choice), then use your Bonus Action to Wild Shape into a durable beast. On subsequent turns, you can attack with your beast form while your spell continues to control the battlefield. Don't forget you have a pool of self-healing with your multiple Wild Shapes!
