Summary
The party pushed deeper into the valley and crossed the ominous Gates of Barovia. Along the way, they discovered a deceased messenger carrying the true letter from the Burgomaster, confirming the initial plea for help was a ruse to lure them to Barovia, before being ambushed by a pack of dire wolves.
Into Barovia
The adventurers pressed onward into the misty valley, eventually reaching and crossing the towering Gates of Barovia. The journey was not without its grim discoveries, as the group came across the corpse of a fallen messenger, hinting at the dangers that lurked in this land.
A Vicious Ambush
The warning provided by the dead messenger proved all too real when the party was suddenly ambushed. A pack of five massive dire wolves emerged from the surrounding wilderness, forcing the heroes to defend themselves against the fierce and coordinated attack.
